The unusual faceted miter sitting high on the figure's forehead is a characteristic of sculptural production at the site of Si Thep, particularly in images of Krishna lifting up Mount Govardhana. Although this head shows affinities with pre-Angkor sculpture, the facial features, and especially the eyes, are linked more closely to the emerging Mon-Dvaravati style of Thailand.
